DIY Decorations For Your Kids Bedroom

I was scouting for some ideas to add some colors to my daughter’s bedroom and here I found a few unique DIY projects that you can easily make at home – do it and save the planet at the same time! To view step-by-step instructions, click on the link below the images… enjoy!
Scrabble Shelves anyone?
I’m sure if you have a box of old scrabble set at home, with most of the letters missing, why not put it to good use – by mounting them on the wall to display your kids’ artworks or favorite books?
A Block Away
Old blocks – don’t throw them away! Simply saw them into half, stack 2-3 blocks together and glue them, or even attach a magnet at the back and voila! You get a cute lil photo display that you can use to brighten up their lil corner.
Hang A Display
A cheap way to brighten up a nursery or kids room is by hanging handmade hot air balloon mobiles made using scrap papers/ cards or print out some cute lil bunnies and hang them on a string…

Storage Oh Storage!
You can never have enough storage to stash all the toys, books, dolls and etc. I am so inspired by this amazing idea of hacking IKEA’s PRÄNT magazine box (available at IKEA Malaysia for RM55) and turning it into a modular storage. The magazine box is made from plywood, simply paint it with your choice of colors, clip them together using metal clips and arrange them to your liking!

Label the FUN
Another way to add a little fun to boxes, canvas organizers or compartment dividers are by labelling them – not using markers, but using colorful threads. An easy way to get organize and play around with colors at the same time.

Get Wasted
Another efficient way to recycle – turn unused paint buckets into eye catching waste paper basket for your kids room. Choose a vibrant, jazzy fabric and stick it using a hot glue gun for an instant change.

Rainbow Crayons Anyone?
Okay so this might not be a DIY project for decorating, but I like the idea of recycling all those messy broken crayon pieces and turn them into colorful usable crayons again

So how about that? Do share with me if you have any other ideas of your own …
